Married!

Hi folks! It’s been three months since my last post, but I’m back! AND, I’m a MARRIED woman now. Can you believe it?! Mrs. Alan (I didn’t change my name), but I’m a Mrs. now!

The wedding was beautiful, magical, fun, wonderful…everything I envisioned but even better. (See pics below.) The ceremony was especially magical. We will be able to happily look back on that moment forever. I now have this sacred space to recall in my mind any time I need to be buoyed...need to remember what this life is really about. I finally understand the purpose of ceremony and ritual.

And Mother Nature did a stellar job too, I must say. We had every season on our wedding day. (Clouds, cold, and rain in the morning; sunshine and warmth for the two hours during our photos and ceremony; and then snow that night!) The aspen leaves were at their absolute prime and the sky was an amazing blue.

And the reception was a blast. I DANCED a ton! I was able to dance at my wedding!!! Just like I hoped and wished for. Brian and I even had a choreographed dance that we forgot half of but still managed to pull off with some style, and had fun to boot. I could really go on and on about how special it all was. And the honeymoon was super fun too.

It’s been a weird transition back to normal life this past month. But we’ve been performing improv a ton. Brian and I got asked to join one of our favorite long-form improv groups in town, Plays Well with Others, and I officially returned to Impulse Theater after six years and had my first show back a week ago. Brian and I also did our two-person improv show last Monday at the Hootenany at the Bovine Metropolis Theater and it went really well. I love that my favorite person to perform improv with is also my HUSBAND!

Thanks for being patient with me, and I hope you all are enjoying fall and doing great.

Here are the table cards and programs we made, as well as the prayer flags we hung around our circular ceremony site...
